Eclipse crashes at startup after update V4.5.1 -> V4.5.2

Hello,

after update V4.5.1 -> V4.5.2 eclipse will always crash at startup. I cannot find any error log entry about this. If i erase the plugin manually from fetaures and plugins directories eclipse will startup...

What does crash mean? Does the eclipse gui come up at all? Does do splash screen show up?

In your workspace there is a directory called .metadata which contains a file .log that might contain information about what happens.

Maybe the plugin registry got invalid due to the failed updated. In this case it will help to start eclipse with the "-clean" option.

Hello micha,

the splash screen shows up, but then disappears without any error message. The .log file does not contain any information about this crash. I restarted eclipse with -clean option, but same problem exist. I removed the plugin manually. After it eclipse is working, but the perspective gets reseted. I installed the previous version 4.5.1 again and it works now!My collegue has the same issue with version 4.5.2

We will stay with V4.5.1 and try to investigate it again with V4.5.2 later

We could not reproduce the installation problem so far. Maybe your proxy has a wrong version of the plugins in its cache?
